Al Ahly were held to a 1-1 draw against Ceramica Cleopatra on Wednesday night in the Egyptian Premier League at Cairo Stadium. 

We spent most of the second half chasing the result as we ended the first half losing 1-0. 

Ali Maaloul equalized the score from the penalty spot 15 minutes before the final whistle but we couldn't add another goal in the remaining minutes and the game ended in a draw. 

First Half 

We had a strong start to the game and our players created the most during the opening phases but we couldn't find the target. 

Our attacking line kept trying to find the opening goal but the opposition's goalkeeper put on a brilliant performance and stopped all our efforts.

Bruno Savio opened the score in the 36th minute but the referee disallowed the goal for offside. 

A few minutes later, Ahmed Ramadan Beckham put Ceramica in front with his header to give his team the lead at the break. 

Second Half

We had a lively start to the second half as our players continued to search for a route back into the game with huge support from our fans in the stands. 

Mohamed Magdy Afsha nearly produced a quick impact but missed a clear chance to equalize. 

Ten minutes later, Mohamed Hany sent a very strong shot but the goalkeeper was in the right place to stop it. 

Marcel Koller decided to use his bench as Mohamed Sherif and Karim Fouad joined the game to replace Shady Hussein and Hamdy Fathy. 

Hussein El Shahat was close from finding the net with a sensational shot but the goalkeeper used his leg to save the ball. 

After reviewing the VAR, the referee awarded us a penalty as Karim Fouad was hit inside the area. Maaloul stepped up to take the penalty and managed to convert it to level the score. 

The goal gave our players more attacking power but we couldn't add another goal in the remaining minutes and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
